Our clear turquoise waters and our underground cave and cavern system attract divers from around the world.We have several great Diving facilities on Island.

The shoals off the eastern and western ends of the island are well known bone fishing territory. Bone fish have even been caught by fishermen standing in the surf off Lucayan Beach. Deep sea fishing is also available and is offered from Lucayan Marina.

If golf is your game we have several PGA rated courses nearby.

For the Eco-tourist we have great Birding. Grand Bahama is home to over 200 species during the winter months and our Bahama Woodstart, Yellowthroat and Swallow are out there waiting for you. If you are a plant person we have 35 indigenous species of orchids on the island. Our local botanical garden; the Garden of the Groves is newly renovated and open after much hurricane damage and includes a beautiful “Labyrinth” to walk.

There are 3 parks in the Bahamas National Trust System on Grand Bahama. You can Kayak through the largest with GB Nature Tours. Or hop in a jeep and take an “East End Adventure” complete with snorkeling, a beach cookout and tour of the outer reaches of our island where the average tourist never goes.

Come at the right time of year and experience JUNKANOO! Eat some Conch, dance to our great Bahamian rake n' scrape music, gamble, socialize the night away or just lie on the beach and read a good book. You can do as little or as much as you want here.
